Dmitry Badiarov Dmitry Badiarov was born in Russia, lived and worked in Saint-Petersburg, Brussels and Tokyo. After graduation from St.Petersburg State Conservatory he enrolled at Brussels Royal Conservatory where he studied baroque violin with Sigiswald Kuijken. Since 1995 he worked with La Petite Bande, Ricercar Consort, Il Fondamento, Den Haag Baroque, Bach Collegium Japan, Les Boreades, Il Gardellino and Les Talens Liriques among others. Since 2007 he is a guest lecturer at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Like the career of Pietro Guarneri, Dmitry Badiarov's career is a blend of two professions: violin playing and making. He made over 65 instruments including a set of early baroque violins for La Petite Bande, the violoncellos da spalla for players such as Ryo Terakado and Sigiswald Kuijken, and a number of baroque violins for European soloists. As violoncellist da spalla he performed and recorded with Bach Collegium Japan (dir. Masaaki Suzuki) and La Petite Bande (dir. Sigiswald Kuijken), with Camerata "Santiago de Queretaro" (dir. Juarez Lincoln Velazquez), participated in the International Festival of Santiago de Queretaro and the 2nd International Festival of Chamber Music in Queretaro, Mexico, in April 2009. His group "Alla Moderna" debuted in Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall in February 2008.
